3.5 stars but an iconic read, and one novel that I wouldn't miss for the world. I can't believe I have waited four years for the new instalment in the Astreiant series. And although these follow-on books in the Astreiant series, I feel, have never been as strong as the first two I still love Scotts writing very much and look forward to her publication.

The Philip angst in this novel is high and I loved every second of it... that last scene made me unable to put the book down and I had to finish it to make sure everyone was okay. In Point of Sighs Nico and Philip, who is one of the best fictional couples ever written, find themselves once again in the middle of a series of murders that seem to tie back to a mysterious ancient water spirit. But this time Philip is in danger as his stars are bad for water. This comes to fruition as bodies start being washed up on the shore, half eaten by fish and it is up to Rathe and Eslingen to figure out who has awoken the Riverdeme. Yet although I loved this book I felt that the mystery/ crime element was a bit weak and I wasn't sure how it all tied together in the end. Overall, however, a good solid read and I would recommend to anyone who enjoys Ellen Kushner's Swordspoint.
